Nasarawa police arrest four suspected armed robbers

The police have arrested four suspects alleged to have robbed some students of the Federal Polytechnic Nasarawa of their valuables.

In a press statement issued on Sunday, the command’s public relations officer, Ramhan Nansel, said the armed robbery suspects injured two students.

Mr Nansel said the police recovered exhibits from the suspects named Usman Abdullahi, Abdullahi Mohammed, Ibrahim Musa, and Fa’ad Idris.

“This is in reaction to a distress call that was received by the divisional police officer, Nasarawa Division, CSP Mohammed Padah, that on 26/5/2024 at about 0240hrs, armed hoodlums attacked some student lodges and a hotel in the Gunki area of Nasarawa LGA where they injured two students of Federal Polytechnic Nasarawa and cart away cell phones and other items,” he stated.

The command’s PRO said its operatives “swiftly raced to the scene and rushed the injured victims to General Hospital, Nasarawa, while the criminals were given a hot chase.”

“One blood stained Knife, one jack Knife, scissors, 8 Apple iPhones, 27 Assorted Android phones of different brands, 2 Laptops, five torch lights, 2 MP3 music players, four bags, six power banks and a cash sum of Two hundred and ninety-eight thousand Naira (#298,000) were recovered from the suspects as exhibits,” he added.

Mr Nansel said the police commissioner, Umar Nadada, commended the DPO and his men for their gallantry and urged them to sustain the tempo.

He assured members of the public that the command would not relent in its effort to ensure public safety.
