Storms kill 19, throw over 600,000 into darkness in U.S.

Over the weekend, deadly storms and tornadoes killed at least 19 persons across states in the United States, plunging more than 600,000 electricity customers into blackout.
In northern Texas, seven were killed, eight died in Arkansas, two died in Oklahoma, and two were killed in Kentucky due to the storms over the weekend.
In the early hours of Monday, at least 13 states, from Arkansas to West Virginia, were experiencing blackouts due to the storms.
A tracking site poweroutage.us. published an estimated number of customers without electricity in the affected areas.
In Kentucky, 162,012 customers had no electricity; in West Virginia, 60,475 customers were in a blackout; in Arkansas, 59,010 were without electricity; in Missouri, 55,431 were without electricity; while in Alabama, 47,424 had no electricity.
Speaking about the disaster on Sunday, Greg Abbott, Texas governor, said many counties in his state are subject to disaster declaration.
