Tinubu’s life is transparent; nothing hidden about him: First Lady
First Lady Remi Tinubu has applauded her husband, President Bola Tinubu, as a transparent leader who works late into the night to ensure a better life for Nigerians.
“To me, Mr president is quite a transparent book. An open book that people can see. Whatever they see him do is what he does in the private,” Mrs Tinubu said.
The first lady spoke in a short documentary shared by Mr Tinubu on Thursday, titled “Creating the pathway for national prosperity in Nigeria.”
According to Mrs Tinubu, the president spends the night studying and thinking about ways to make Nigeria better for its citizens and fulfil his campaign promises.
She stated, “What he does more is that he studies more late into the night, reviewing things and going through files trying to think about ways to get things going well for our people to deliver on his promises to Nigerians.”
Mrs Tinubu’s portrayal of her husband as “transparent” contradicts her husband’s public image, dented by corruption, certificate forgery, identity theft, and involvement in cocaine trafficking controversies.
In the 90s, Mr Tinubu was embroiled in a cocaine trafficking scandal that saw him forfeit some monies to the U.S. government.
Peoples Gazette had, in 2022, published a series of damning reports on how Mr Tinubu, who was Lagos governor between 1999-2007, corruptly enriched through questionable Lagos tax administration via Alpha Beta. The newspaper also uncovered how Mr Tinubu’s Alpha Beta siphoned billions to shell companies.
