We‘ll deploy technology to fight banditry, kidnapping, others: Gov. Mutfwang

Gov. Caleb Mutfwang of Plateau says the state government will deploy technology and other modern apparatuses to tackle insecurity in the state.
The governor made the statement at a media parley on Friday in Jos.
Acknowledging that insecurity had remained a big challenge faced by his administration in the last one year, the governor thanked the federal government for supporting the state government’s efforts in handling the situation.
He explained that his government had trained over 600 personnel of the state’s security outfit, Operation Rainbow, to support conventional security outfits in the area of intelligence gathering.
”Insecurity has been one of the major challenges staring us in the face, but we have rejigged our security architecture and I really thank President Bola Tinubu for the support.
”We can say that through our efforts, we now have relative peace, but it is not yet uhuru.
”We have rejigged Operation Rainbow and recruited 600 personnel to add to existing personnel
”We will leverage technology to improve our security system in order to secure lives and property,” he said
Mr Mutfwang promised continuous support for security agencies in their efforts to tackle insecurity in the state.
