FG to unveil world’s largest painting portrait on Democracy Day

The Federal Government is set to unveil the world’s largest painting portrait on canvas on Tuesday, at the Eagles Square, Abuja.
The canvass which will be in green and white is to commemorate Nigeria’s 25th Democracy Day.
The event is in remembrance of the annulment of the June 12, 1993 presidential poll won by the late MKO Abiola and annulled by the then military Head of State, Ibrahim Babangida.
The regime of General Sani Abacha later incarcerated MKO Abiola on June 22, 1994, and died in custody in 1998.
The Immediate past president, Muhammadu Buhari, in honour of the late MKO Abiola, in June 2018, declared that effective 2019, Nigeria’s Democracy Day would no longer be observed on May 29, but on every June 12.
