Democracy Day: Military vows to defend Nigerians against bandits, Boko Haram

The Chief of Defence Staff, Christopher Musa, has assured Nigerians of victory against enemies of the state.
Mr Musa stated this on Wednesday in a goodwill message by the acting director of defence information, Tukur Gusau, on the 2024 Democracy Day celebration.
He reaffirmed the unwavering commitment and loyalty of the armed forces to Nigeria’s constitution and the president.
According to him, the armed forces remain dedicated to supporting and strengthening democracy for the benefit of all Nigerians and will continue to collaborate with national and sub-national institutions to entrench constitutional governance.
The defence chief acknowledged the sacrifices made by members of the armed forces in various theatres of operation across the country and their commitment to Nigeria’s unity and growth.
He urges personnel to uphold the tenets of democracy, safeguard citizens’ rights, and ensure a peaceful and secure environment for all.
Mr Musa also appealed to all Nigerians to remain positive toward the challenges facing the country, and to support the military in the fight against all acts of terrorism and criminality.
