Euro 2024: Cristiano Ronaldo makes European Championship history against Czechia

Al Nassr forward Cristiano Ronaldo reached another football milestone after he featured in Portugal’s Group F match against Czechia on Tuesday to become the first player to compete in six separate UEFA European Championship.
The 39-year-old made his Euros at the 2004 tournament held in his home country of Portugal and has featured in every edition since then. The match against Czechia marked his 26th game overall appearance in the competition.
He scored 14 goals in total at the European Champions finals, making him the highest scorer in the tournament’s history as of the time of filing this report. He also led Portugal to triumph at Euro 2016—the first time in their history.
Ronaldo’s national team-mate Reuben Dias was praised for the former Manchester United star ahead of Portugal’s Euros opener against Czechia, stating the five-time Ballon d’Or winner is a beacon of hope for the team.
“Cristiano represents the idea that it’s possible to dream and achieve great things,” said the Manchester City defender.
“It’s a pleasure to have him with us. Beyond all those little big things I’ve mentioned, it’s important that he’s here with us at this stage of his career,” he added.
