Fourteen die in Southern Egypt building collapse

Fourteen people died when a three-storey building collapsed in the southern Egyptian city of Assiut, city Governor Essam Saad said on Tuesday.
The bodies were recovered from under the rubble during search and rescue operations following the building collapse on Monday.
“Six people were rescued and have been transferred to the hospital,” Mr Saad said.
According to him, poor maintenance of old buildings and violations of construction regulations are often blamed for the deadly collapses of residential buildings in Egypt.
Rescue teams are still searching for survivors over the past 24 hours, according to the report.
