Militant attacks in Pakistan declined by 20% in June: Report

The report noted that in the first six months of the year, Pakistan had faced 478 attacks, resulting in 474 deaths and 539 injuries.

Pakistan in June saw the least number of militant attacks, resulting in fewer deaths and injuries, a local think tank said.

The militants carried out 69 attacks across the country in June, which caused 60 deaths, including 33 security forces personnel, 26 civilians, and one militant, the Pakistan Institute for Conflict and Security Studies said in a report on Tuesday.

The data also showed that 65 people were injured, comprising 33 civilians, 31 security forces personnel, and one militant.

It added that there was a 20 per cent decline in militant attacks, a 33 per cent fall in resultant deaths, and a 25 per cent decrease in injuries compared to May.

The report noted that in the first six months of the year, Pakistan had faced 478 attacks, resulting in 474 deaths and 539 injuries.

According to official data, during the same period in 2023, the South Asian country witnessed 271 attacks, resulting in 391 deaths and 656 injuries.
