The Nigeria Governors’ Forum (NGF) has commiserated with families affected by the tragic collapse of a school building in Plateau, which resulted in the loss of multiple lives and many injuries.

The NGF chairman, Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq of Kwara, made this known in a statement by the forum’s acting spokesperson, Ahmed Halimah, on Saturday in Abuja.

According to him, the governors stand in solidarity with the people of Plateau and affected families during this difficult time.

Mr Abdulrazaq commended the rescue teams’ swift response and the state government’s efforts in managing the crisis.

He expressed the forum’s readiness to support the state government in its efforts to help mitigate the impact of the tragedy on the affected families and prevent future occurrences.

“Safety in our schools is paramount, and we must take immediate steps to address any lapses.

“We are committed to supporting Plateau in providing necessary assistance to the affected families,” he said.

Mr Abdulrazaq prayed that God would grant the affected families the strength and courage to bear the irreparable loss.

He added that the forum’s prayers and thoughts were with Mr Mutfwang, the Busa Buji community, and the entire Plateau.
