Katsina governor proceeds on one-month vacation, hands over to deputy

Katsina State governor, Dikko Radda, has handed over power to his deputy, Faruq Lawal-Jobe, while he proceeds on a one-month vacation.
The governor made this known in Katsina on Tuesday at a joint meeting with local government chairmen, legislatures and the executive.
“I also want to seize this opportunity to inform you that I will proceed with my vacation and medical checkup from Thursday until August 18.
“So, I have transmitted power formally to the deputy governor to act in an acting capacity for this period. I also sent a letter to the assembly, and they okayed my leave as provided by the constitution of this country. I wish the acting governor well in the discharge of his responsibility. And for the members of the assembly, judiciary, executive council and local government chairmen, I want you to give him all the necessary cooperation and support.
“To the people of Katsina State, we thank you very much for giving us the opportunity to serve you,” the governor said.
During the meeting, the governor also received the 2024 supplementary budget as passed by the state’s assembly.
