Burna Boy surprises fans with eighth studio album announcement

Nigerian artiste Damini Ogulu, also known as Burna Boy, has surprised his fans by revealing the upcoming release of his eighth studio album.
The singer announced on Monday morning that he would release a new album at midnight without any prior notice.
“Album dropping at 12:00 a.m.,” Burna Boy wrote on X without revealing the album cover, tracklist, or title.
The unexpected announcement has created excitement among fans eagerly looking forward to the album.
Burna Boy’s previous album, “I Told Them,” achieved remarkable success, debuting at number one on the UK Albums Chart and making him the first African artist to achieve this milestone.
The album also secured a spot in the top 40 on multiple international charts and amassed over 200 million streams across various streaming platforms.
It received critical acclaim and featured notable singles such as “Sittin’ on Top of the World” and “City Boys.”
“I Told Them” also garnered significant recognition in the music industry, earning Burna Boy four nominations at the 2024 Grammy Awards for Best Melodic Rap Performance, Best Global Music Album, Best Global Music Performance, and Best African Music Performance.
