The African Action Congress (AAC) says it will establish industrial hubs that would attract investment for Edo if elected into office on September 21.

The party unveiled the plan at the governorship election town hall meeting, organised by the Independent Television and Radio on Sunday in Benin.

AAC’s governorship candidate, Oberaifo Udoh, said his government would create a business-friendly environment that would boost job opportunities for the state.

Mr Oberaifo said the party would also focus on healthcare, education, security, and infrastructure development.

The governorship candidate’s plans were presented by Stanley Atafoh, the party’s publicity secretary and Lawerence Olatunji, the director of the AAC Governorship Campaign Council in Edo South, at the programme.

The gubernatorial candidate said he would promote digital entrepreneurship and investment in agriculture that would ensure food security.

“My initiatives in community development, particularly in Esanland, where I provided solar lights, built boreholes, and supported STEM education, earned me the title ‘Nation Builder.’

“My job journey from a humble beginning to becoming a successful entrepreneur is a testament to my resilience and commitment to putting humanity first,” he said.

Mr Oberaifo said he had supported more than 40,000 Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) across Africa through the Transforming Nigerian Youth programme in partnership with the Mastercard Foundation.

He urged Edo people to support his movement for change, promising to create an Edo that worked for everyone, not just those with connections.
