British tech mogul’s body recovered from sunken yacht, daughter still missing

The body of British tech tycoon Mike Lynch was recovered from an Italian yacht that capsized this week, according to coast guard officials who also said Mr Lynch’s daughter, Hannah, had yet to be found.
Mr Lynch and his daughter were among the 22 persons aboard the yacht on Monday. Fifteen people survived the accident after using a lifeboat to escape the yacht.
The yacht sank after it was struck by a waterspout, a raging water storm near Palermo. So far, Mr Lynch was the only victim confirmed dead by Palermo’s prefect,
Massimo Mariani.
Six bodies have so far been recovered as of Thursday afternoon while searching was ongoing to find Hannah Lynch.
Jonathan Bloomer, chair of Morgan Stanley International and his wife, Judy, were among the victims. Clifford Chance’s lawyer, Christopher J. Morvillo and his wife, Neda, were also victims of the submerged yacht.
The Bayesian sea vessel was “designed to be unsinkable,” AP cited Giovanni Costantino as saying in an interview on Thursday. Mr Constantino was the chief executive of the Italian Sea Group.
“It is unsinkable not only because it is designed in this way but also because it is a sailing ship and sailing ships are the safest ever,” he added.
