Trump names Tom Homan as border czar to oversee massive deportation

President-elect Donald Trump has named Tom Homan, former acting director of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, as “border czar” to oversee his planned massive deportation of illegal immigrants.
In a post on Truth Social, a platform he owns, Mr Trump announced Mr Tom’s appointment as border czar ahead of his assumption of office in January.
“I am pleased to announce that the former ICE director and stalwart on border control, Tom Homan, will be joining the Trump Administration, in charge of our Nation’s Borders (“The Border Czar”), including, but not limited to, the Southern Border, the Northern Border, all Maritime, and Aviation Security,” Mr Trump said.
The president-elect expressed confidence in Mr Tom’s ability to oversee his massive deportation of illegal immigrants plan.
“I’ve known Tom for a long time, and there is nobody better at policing and controlling our Borders. Likewise, Tom Homan will be in charge of all deportation of illegal aliens back to their country of origin. Congratulations to Tom. I have no doubt he will do a fantastic and long-awaited for job,” Mr Trump said.
Mr Trump, during his campaign, vowed to deport en mass illegal immigrants back to their home countries, labelling them security threats to America.
In an interview with 60 Minutes’ Cecilia Vega in October, Mr Homan argued that the cost of deportation could not equal the national security threats illegal immigrants pose to the United States of America.
