INEC delivers sensitive materials for Ondo governorship poll

Sensitive materials for Saturday’s off-cycle governorship election in Ondo State have arrived at the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) in the Alagbaka area of Akure, the state capital.
The materials, which included ballot papers and results sheets, arrived at the CBN office on Monday afternoon.
The materials were transported by the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) and received by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) officials.
A spokesperson for INEC in the state, Temitope Akanmu, told Peoples Gazette that the materials would be distributed by Thursday.
Mr Akanmu said the leaders of political parties participating in the election will be invited to the headquarters of CBN for an inspection and assessment of the materials before their distribution to the LGAs.
“So, by Thursday, we would commence its distribution after the party leaders must have inspected the materials in the presence of INEC and security agents.”
Seventeen political parties fielded candidates for the election.
