The Petroleum Products Retail Outlets Owners Association of Nigeria (PETROAN) has disclosed that a litre of petrol at the Port Harcourt Refinery is ₦75 higher than that of Dangote Refinery.

PETROAN spokesman Joseph Obele disclosed this at the reopening ceremony of the Port Harcourt facility, which resumed production on Tuesday.

“While Dangote Refinery sells petrol to marketers at N970 per litre, the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) supplies the same product at N1,045, creating a N75 per litre difference,” said the former chairman of the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria.

Meanwhile, former Governor Peter Obi has commended NNPCL for revitalising the Port Harcourt refinery.

However, Mr Obi further tasked the company to ensure transparency in its operations by keeping Nigerians abreast of necessary information.

“While we acknowledge these achievements as a step in the right direction, it is crucial to emphasise the importance of transparency in the operations of the NNPC,” stated the leading opposition figure in Nigeria.
