UNIBEN vice-chancellor advised to enhance university’s ranking

The Benin Consultative Forum has charged Edoba Omoregie, the new vice-chancellor of the University of Benin, with enhancing the ranking of UNIBEN as a premier institution.

President of the forum, Solomon Arase, a former inspector general of police, gave the charge at the formal unveiling of the BCF at a dinner on Sunday night.

The forum also used the moment to honour the duo of Mr Omoregie and Samson Osagie, newly appointed attorney general and commissioner for justice.

Mr Arase, however, expressed confidence in the new vice-chancellor’s ability to rally stakeholders and sustain the institution’s excellence.

The BCF president also praised Mr Osagie’s appointment, describing him as a beacon of hope for justice and fairness in the state.

According to him, Mr Osagie’s legacy of integrity and dedication would undoubtedly uphold the principles of justice and promote equity and progress.

He explained that BCF aims to work for the unity, empowerment and collective progress of the people of Benin and Edo in general.

Messrs Omoregie and Osagie assured the audience of their commitment to delivering on their new assignments for the benefit of Nigerians. They underscored the need for the people of Benin to unite, nurture ideas, strengthen bonds, and work together towards a more progressive Edo nation.
