The Delta State Police Command has arrested one Benedict Toju Ogheneovo for alleging that “the police made his manhood disappear” after a search was conducted on him and his two friends.

The state police spokesperson, Bright Edafe, disclosed this in a post on X on Thursday. He also shared a video of the suspect making his confessional statement at the Ekpan Division in Uvwie Local Government Area.

Mr Edafe said the police in Warri on Monday conducted a search on the three men and their vehicles and were asked to go as officers found nothing incriminating against them.

“To our greatest surprise, this man came back and said after the policemen searched him, his manhood disappeared,” said Mr Edafe.

Mr Edafe said the suspect would be charged to court.

In the video shared by the police spokesperson, the suspect confirmed that the policemen did not collect anything from them before asking them to go but said, “When I left, I was feeling somehow, so I came back to the police checkpoint to explain how I was feeling, which was wrong.”

The 31-year-old, who claimed to have studied political science and computer science, said the officers took him to the station where the DPO “asked for a doctor’s examination, which was carried out, and it was confirmed that my penis is still intact.”

Asked if he initially opened his trousers to check if his manhood was missing, the suspect said, “I opened and checked, but I was scared for the unknown, which was a very stupid thing to do. It was shrinking, and it was small. I later realised that it was because of the panic and fear I was feeling.”

The suspect, however, apologised to the police over the claim.
