ACI to mark 15th anniversary with green initiatives

African Cleanup Initiative says it is planting 1,500 trees nationwide and donating 15,000 copies of ‘Green Book’ to mark its 15th anniversary.
ACI founder Alexander Akhigbe confirmed this during a news conference in Lagos on Sunday.
He said ACI would also organise major cleanup exercises nationwide and donate 5,000 reusable pads as part of the anniversary celebrations.
He said the week-long event will run from June 9 to 15.
“Our closing events will feature the Recyclespay Quiz and Debate Competition, an Awards and Dinner Night, and a Thanksgiving Service.
“We invite all stakeholders, past and present, to join us in marking this historic week of service to people and the planet.
“ACI is 15 years stronger because of partners, donors, collaborators like you, and the kindness of God Almighty,” Mr Akhigbe said.
He described the anniversary as a time for reflection, appreciation of past contributions, and renewed commitment to environmental sustainability.
He added that raising environmentally responsible citizens was achievable through collective efforts.
Since its inception in 2010, ACI has promoted communal and corporate cleanups and environmental awareness.
