Yobe govt. recruits 42 community nurses

The Yobe State Primary Health Care Board has recruited 42 community nurses to bolster health care service delivery in the state.
This is contained in a statement by Adamu Abba, the board’s spokesman, in Damaturu on Saturday.
He said that Babagana Machina, the board’s executive secretary, had already presented appointment letters to the nurses drawn from set three of the Shehu Sule College of Nursing and Midwifery, Damaturu.
Mr Abba noted that the nurses would fill the manpower gap at primary health care centres across the 17 local government areas of the state.
“Gov Mai Mala Buni-led administration has, so far, either constructed or renovated 142 primary health care centres across the state since 2019.
“You will recall that the governor, during his electioneering campaign, promised to provide a standard primary health care centre in each of the 178 political wards in Yobe.
“Therefore, this recruitment and more to come will boost manpower at the centres to enhance service delivery,” the spokesman said.
He said that Mr Machina had congratulated the nurses and charged them to reciprocate by being dedicated to their duties.
