Ebonyi governor orders relocation of poultry markets within 24 hours

Poultry markets within Abakaliki have been asked to relocate immediately by the state governor Dave Umahi.
Mr Umahi directed that all poultry markets within Abakaliki should move to the permanent designated site within 24 hours.
“Recall that the governor had issued the same directive a year ago, but it was discovered that many of the poultry traders failed to comply.
“In the foregoing, the governor has directed the Commissioner for Capital City to impound and prosecute any of such illegal markets from Monday, July 5,” the governor’s spokesman, Francis Nwaze, said on Saturday.
The permanent site is opposite the St. Margaret Umahi International Market, Abakaliki.
