Nine Akure surveyors kidnapped by bandits have been freed.

Ajibade Owolanke, a relative of one of the kidnapped surveyors, told Peoples Gazette the kidnap victims were set free at midnight.

The surveyors were kidnapped penultimate Tuesday at a site in Ilu Abo in Akure by armed bandits, demanding N100 million ransom for their release.

“After several negotiations with them, from N100 million, they told us to bring the N20 million we were able to raise from the people and market women.

“They have been released. We appreciate the media for standing and raising your voice to this. We commend you all. They are currently in the hospital now, receiving treatment,” Mr Owolanke told The Gazette.
