Mr Olojede, whose address was not provided, is standing trial on a four-count charge bordering on defilement, indecent assault, child abuse and assault.

The chief magistrate, B.A. Sonuga did not take the defendant’s plea.

He remanded the defendant in a correctional facility and ordered that the file be sent to the office of the Lagos State Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) for legal advice.

Mr Sonuga adjourned the case until May 22, pending legal advice.

Earlier, the prosecuting counsel, ASP Aminu Isaac, told the court that the defendant committed the offences on March 14 at No. 31, Ajilo St., Oke-Oko, Agric area, Ikorodu.

He said the defendant also assaulted a four-year-old minor, the sibling of the girl, by touching him and chasing him out of his father’s room.

According to the prosecutor, the offences contravene sections 137, 135, 135 and 170 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.
