Eid-el-Fitr: Ondo CP orders adequate security at prayer grounds

Wilfred Afolabi, Commissioner of Police in Ondo State, has directed that security apparatus be emplaced at prayer grounds across the state to prevent security breaches.
Mr Afolabi gave the directive in a statement by the command’s spokesperson, CSP Funmilayo Odunlami, on Saturday in Akure.
The commissioner of police said the order was to ensure a hitch-free celebration and urged parents and guardians to keep a close watch on their children, especially toddlers, to prevent the issue of missing persons during the celebration.
“I joined others across the state to felicitate with the Muslim faithful on the celebration of Eid-el-Fitri, marking the end of Ramadan, and I prayed that Almighty Allah accepts their fasting as an act of Ibadah.
“Furthermore, adequate security has been put in place for motoring public transiting the state.
“Policemen have been deployed along the highways and boundaries to ensure ease of movement and prevent any threat while in the state,” he said.
