Governor Umar Bago of Niger has urged the Muslim Ummah to uphold dedication in the worship of Allah beyond the Ramadan period.

Mr Bago said this in a statement by his chief press secretary, Bologi Ibrahim, on Saturday in Minna.

He congratulated the Muslim Ummah across the globe on the successful completion of the 2025 Ramadan fast and the Eid-Fitr celebration.

The governor reminded them that the teachings of the Quran and Hadith centred on peace, love, discipline, and humility.

He added that the worship of Allah was not only observed during the Ramadan fast but was lifelong.

While thanking Allah for the season, he said the celebration revolved around love, almsgiving to the less privileged and peaceful co-existence with people of other religions.

Mr Bago called on them to use the period to also pray for enduring peace in Nigeria as a whole and the state in particular.

He reaffirmed his commitment to building a new Niger where everyone would have a sense of belonging.
