Eid-el-Fitr: Ogun governor urges Muslims to sustain supplication, charity

Mr Abiodun commended Muslims in the state for their unwavering support for his administration

Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun, has felicitated Muslim faithful on the 2025 Ramadan, saying the period has enriched the country spiritually.

Mr Abiodun said this in a statement signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Lekan Adeniran on Sunday in Abeokuta.

He commended Muslim faithful for their prayers and for committing the country into the hands of Almighty Allah.

The governor added that their prayers, supplications and acts of charity should be sustained.

He said, “The benefits are massive and I know that the country has started reaping some of them.’’

Mr Abiodun also commended Muslims in the state for their unwavering support for his administration, commitment to the growth and development of the state, saying that it would not be taken for granted.

He stated, “As a government, we remain committed to creating a society that all residents will be proud of and I am extremely grateful that I can count on your support, wise counsel and contributions.’’

The governor, who acknowledged the economy and security challenges in the country, said it was already changing for the better.

He said, “With all the prayers there is a positive charge and renewed commitment to national development on the part of the political leadership.”

According to him, eid-el-fitr offers Muslims an opportunity to renew their bonds of love with one another as a community, state, and country.

 â€śOn behalf of myself and the government of Ogun State, I celebrate all our Muslim brothers and sisters on this great day of eid-el-fitr,” he said.
