Enyimba taking every game as final, says midfielder, Umeh

Enyimba International FC defensive midfielder, Gozie Umeh, said the nine time Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) champions are aiming for nothing less than a top-three finish and a continental ticket.
Mr Umeh, who stated this while speaking with journalists in Aba on Saturday, said that the club still have six games to prove their worth.
He said that their match against Sunshine Stars FC of Akure on Sunday remains a must win.
Mr Umeh insisted that the club would continue to fight for continental position.
He said, “I know that it may not be an easy game, but we are determined to win the maximum points on Sunday. With just six games to go and 18 points to grab, we are optimistic to go all the way and we are taking each game at a time. We need to get it right against Sunshine Stars and with a positive result, I am optimistic we can do it and grab a continental ticket.’’
Mr Umeh said that his club has the hunger, grit, and mentality to finish the season strong.
He said the 2-1 win over Abia Warriors reignited the club’s campaign, but has injected belief into the squad as they gear up for the season’s home stretch.
“I commend NPFL for making the derby against Abia Warriors live; it will help to advertise the league. I wish we get more of our games live on television because it is good for Nigerian football,” Mr Umeh said.
