Osun state Governor, Ademola Adeleke met his Oyo State counterpart, Seyi Makinde, at his Ibadan residence to address the lingering border disputes between Lagelu and Iwo local governments of the two states.

The spokesperson for the Osun State governor, Olawale Rasheed, made the disclosure via his social media handle on Thursday.

Mr Rasheed said the two state governors decided on immediate actions, including directing their deputies to meet and visit the conflicting areas.

The governors also tasked their deputies with the responsibility of resolving another boundary disagreement between Orolu local government and Ogbomoso areas in both states.

The spokesperson stated that both governors also called for an immediate end to the reported raids into each other’s territories by some aggrieved characters.

Mr Rasheed noted that the National Boundary Commission, responsible for conducting boundary surveys, had previously paid a visit, as well as conduct evaluation in the affected areas.

The spokesperson decried that the agency had yet to release its report despite follow-ups by various stakeholders.

Mr Rasheed stated that Mr Adeleke during the meeting stressed the historical connection between the two states, describing the protracted conflict as a matter of urgency.
