Anambra 2025: Aguata LG stakeholders endorse Gov. Soludo for second term
People of Aguata Local Government Area of Anambra have expressed satisfaction with the performance of Gov. Chukwuma Soludo in the last three years.
The people, under the aegis of Aguata stakeholders, gave the pass mark on Mt Soludo after a tour of some of the projects he executed across the state on Sunday.
The stakeholders commended the construction of Ekwulobia flyover, the first in Anambra South Senatorial District, the construction of bus terminal and the control works going on at the Umuchiana gully erosion site.
Speaking to journalists, Joseph Ezeokafor, leader of Aguata stakeholders, said Mr Soludo had touched every community with both physical and intangible projects.
Mr Ezeokafor, who is the managing director of JEZCO Oil Group, said the new Anambra Government House was a jinx breaker for the state that was created 34 years ago.
He said the transformation going on in Ekwulobia axis had wiped tears from the destruction of property that made way for the flyover, noting that the landmark projects of Soludo would change the life of the people.
According to him, even though we suffered huge losses of property at the beginning, we are better off now, we are happy.
Mr Ezeokafor said the Fun City in Awka was a world class tourist destination with potential to generate high revenue for the state while the network of roads have opened up several communities and connected them to each other.
“In overseas, we visit sites like this and pay in dollars but I plead with the governor to allow visitors to pay in naira. This Fun City with all the facilities is the best place to come for leisure, I expect that when it is opened, foreigners will also come.
“Government House that was impossible for past governments for 34 years has been completed in one year, this is a good one for Anambra, Awka is becoming a real capital city.
“Prof. Soludo has worked, I do not know him much but I have seen his works, he has shown that he is a good son and ambassador of Aguata, so for doing this much, we shall reward him with another opportunity to serve.
“So, we are calling on the people of Aguata and Anambra in general to support and vote for him for a second term in November,” he said.
Also speaking, Kingsley Ezeagu, deputy chairman of Ekwulobia Local Government Council, said Mr Soludo had developed Anambra across all sectors.
Mr Ezeagu said the people of Aguata were satisfied with the works of Soludo and would work for his success at the poll.
Earlier, Ifeanyi Okoma, the commissioner of works in Anambra, who conducted the stakeholders around the projects, said Mr Soludo was giving the people the best within the limited resources of the state.
Mr Okoma said the Government House and Fun City projects were almost completed and built for the service of the people.
