Lagos task force arrests 71 for assault, robbery

The Lagos State Environmental Task Force team, on Tuesday, arrested 71 suspected criminals for assaulting and robbing residents.
In a statement on Tuesday, the commissioner for environment and water resources, Tokunbo Wahab, said the arrest was during a clean-up operation of criminal elements.
The enforcement operations were carried out in Victoria Island, Oniru, Ikoyi, Apongbon, and Law School, amongst other areas where miscreants were noticed.
“During the raid exercise, a total number of 71 suspects were arrested, and sanity was restored in all the areas,” Mr Wahab stated.
He stated that the agency’s feedback mechanism suggested that “some of the streets are populated by suspected criminals attacking, assaulting and denying innocent Lagosians of their hard-earned valuables and belongings.”
