Meta launches enhanced AI assistant to promote social interaction

Meta says it has launched enhanced personalisation features for its Meta AI assistant and introduced a ‘Discover’ feed to promote social interaction around AI use.
In a statement on Tuesday, Meta said the AI assistant could now learn individual preferences, such as interests in travel and language learning, and glean relevant details from user interaction contexts.
“The Meta AI will draw upon user-provided information from Meta products, including profile details and content engagement, to deliver more pertinent responses.
“Users who link their Facebook and Instagram accounts within the Accounts Centre will benefit from a more refined and integrated AI experience,” Meta said.
It added that the ‘Discover’ feed allowed users to share and explore innovative AI uses, view popular prompts, and adapt them for personal use while maintaining control over their content.
Meta emphasised that users could retain control over their content, with nothing being shared to their personal feeds unless explicitly chosen by the user.
It said these two latest developments underscored Meta’s commitment to creating AI tools that were intelligent and deeply connected to individual users and their social experiences.
