Bayelsa PDP caretaker committee creates eight directorates

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Bayelsa has approved the creation of eight directorates and support structures for the effective administration of the party.
The caretaker committee chairman, George Turnah, disclosed this in a statement by the publicity secretary, Derri Wright on Sunday in Yenagoa.
Mr Turnah noted that the initiative was aimed at strengthening the party’s administrative structure, enhancing internal cohesion and effective service delivery.
He listed the new directorates to include, finance and administration, media and publicity, mobilisation and field operations, and internal security.
Others are transport and logistics, planning, research and statistics, procurement, and new media.
The caretaker committee chairman said that the heads of the directorates would be appointed from each of the eight local government areas of the state.
“This will ensure that our governance structure reflects the diverse voices of our party members and the various interests we serve.
He further stated that the party had approved the appointment of special advisers, senior special assistants, and special assistants to support the new directorates.
The appointments will be drawn from each of the 24 state constituencies in the state to ensure spread and even representation.
“Our intention is to foster unity and strengthen our bond as a family. It will also increase commitment among party members and create a sense of ownership,” he said.
Mr Turnah urged PDP faithful to support the development and work collectively in the interest of its growth and stability.
