Enyiekere assumes duty as sixth NASC chair

Saviour Enyiekere has assumed duty as the sixth executive chairman of the National Assembly Service Commission.
Mr Enyiekere and 11 commissioners assumed duty after being sworn in by President Bola Tinubu at the Aso Rock Presidential Villa, Abuja.
Mr Enyiekere was the first Southern Nigerian to become the head of the NASC since its creation on June 19, 2001, said a statement by the commission.
It disclosed that the commissioners who reported to duty alongside the chairman include Hanmation Tersoo and Salisu Agboola-Balogun (North-Central).
Others were Lawan Mahmud and Aminu Malle (North-East); Suleiman Hunkuyi and Yusuf Tabuka (North-West), Festus Ifesinachi Odii (South-East), Mary Ekpenyong and Patrick Giwa (South-South), Taiwo Oluga and Ipesa-Balogun, Afeez (South-West).
He added that NASC’s secretary, Lucky Ikharo, while presenting the handover documents to the new chair, pledged total commitment of the new management towards effective performance of the commission’s assignment.
“I thank President Tinubu, Senate President Godswill Akpabio and the leadership of the National Assembly for giving us the opportunity to serve.
“I pledge that we will lead the Service towards achieving the legislative mandate of government,” Mr Enyiekere said.
