Nationwide Looting: Osinbajo, governors, security chiefs hold emergency NEC tomorrow

Vice President Yemi Osinbajo will convene an emergency meeting of the national economic council on Monday, sources involved in the planning told Peoples Gazette.
The meeting will discuss #EndSARS, widespread plundering of food items and assets and other crises the nation has been grappling over the past week. Several states have declared a curfew to curb an upsurge in home invasion and looting.
The NEC is a meeting of vice-president and state governors, with a focus on economic and political matters.Â
But the Gazette learnt that security chiefs have been invited to take part in tomorrow’s meeting, which is scheduled to hold at noon.
Those invited include: police inspector-general, national security adviser, director-general of the State Security Service, the chief of defence staff and the commandant-general of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps.
