NCoS places N5 million bounty on seven escapees from Osun prison

The Nigerian Correctional Service has announced a N5 million cash reward to anyone who can assist with information that can lead to the rearrest of inmates who fled the medium security custodial centre, Ilesha, Osun State.
Recall that the old perimeter wall of the facility collapsed due to a heavy rainfall around 2:00 a.m., on Tuesday, leading to the escape of seven inmates.
“A cash reward of 5 million is being offered to anyone who provides useful information that leads to the recapture of the fleeing inmates from the Medium Custodial Centre, Ilesha, Osun State,” NCoS spokesperson, Umar Abubakar, said in a statement on Wednesday.
“The Service urges members of the public to report any information they may have regarding the whereabouts of the inmates at large to the nearest security agencies. All information will be treated with utmost confidentiality and anonymity,” he assured.
According to Mr Abubakar, the N5 million offer is aimed at encouraging members of the public to participate in the apprehension of the fleeing inmates.
