Leading environmental organisation Natural Eco Capital hosted dozens of students from Dunamis Faith Academy on Tuesday as part of an educational visit to mark the 2025 Children’s Day in Benin, Edo State.

More than 30 school kids, dressed in their uniforms, were taken on a tour of Natural Eco’s facility to witness the company’s flagship ‘Eco Waste-to-Wealth’ project aimed at enlightening youth on sustainable waste management practices.

During the visit, which also coincided with this year’s Children’s Day, experts exposed the students to real-world solutions for plastic management and practical applications of the lessons both at home and in school.

Furthermore, the interactive session inspired the students to rethink how everyday materials can be recycled and reused, reshaping their understanding of environmental responsibility as future leaders.

Speaking at the event, the Natural Eco Capital Lead, Strategies for Circular Economy and Biodiversity, E.V. Aghimien, said the programme was crucial in educating young minds on environmental sustainability.

“Instilling knowledge of the circular economy from an early age ensures that future generations develop a culture of responsible waste management,” Mr Aghimien said. “These children are the leaders of tomorrow, and their ability to adopt sustainable habits will determine the health of our environment in years to come.”

He added that the experience of the visit “has opened the children’s eyes to the importance of waste management. Seeing them engage with the process and ask thoughtful questions gives hope that the next generation will be more conscious of protecting the environment.”
