The Bank of Industry has taken another step to support economic development in Kogi with the opening of a new office in Lokoja.

Governor Ahmed Ododo, who inaugurated the office on Monday in Lokoja, described the initiative as a testament to Kogi’s readiness for economic transformation.

Mr Ododo said, “This isn’t just a building. It represents a future built on shared belief and the people’s determination to make Kogi Nigeria’s economic powerhouse.

“With the Bank of Industry as a partner, I am confident that we are now firmly on the right path.”

He thanked President Bola Tinubu for prioritising Kogi’s development and consistently supporting its economic aspirations.

Mr Ododo pledged full support for BoI’s operations, assuring a business-friendly environment for the benefit of Kogi’s people.

Earlier, BoI’s CEO, Olasupo Olusi, said the launch reflects the government’s commitment to delivering development finance to every part of Nigeria.

“Kogi now joins our expanding national network, giving its people direct access to BOI’s financial services,” Mr Olusi stated.

He said the office would support MSMEs, cooperatives, women and youth-led businesses, and industry to stimulate inclusive economic development.

Mr Olusi noted the commissioning is a milestone in BoI’s strategy to strengthen support for MSMEs and improve access to affordable, inclusive financing.

He added that the office would also support key sectors, including agriculture, solid minerals, manufacturing, creative and circular economies.

The BoI chief commended Mr Ododo for his dedication to promoting inclusive growth and supporting enterprises in Kogi.

“This office offers entrepreneurs access to financing, business support, and resources to grow successful, impactful ventures,” Mr Olusi said.

He cited initiatives like the N200 billion MSME Intervention Fund, which will support job creation, innovation, and sustainable enterprise.

“I encourage entrepreneurs across Kogi to take full advantage of this opportunity. This commissioning marks not just a new office but a new era of innovation, partnership, and economic inclusion,” Mr Olusi said.

Femi Ajisafe, the chairman of the Kogi Chamber of Commerce and Industry, praised the governor for inviting BoI into the state.

Mr Ajisafe assured BoI of the chamber’s collaboration to support thriving businesses and advance Kogi’s economic development goals.
