Elon Musk accuses Donald Trump of paedophilia in unhinged rant
X owner and tech billionaire, Elon Musk, has accused Donald Trump of being in files relating to the disgraced paedophile financier Jeffrey Epstein.
Mr Musk made the weighty accusation on X on Thursday as the row between the duo worsens.
“@realDonaldTrump is in the Epstein files,” the billionaire noted, alleging “that is the real reason they have not been made public.”
Mr Musk, however, did not give any evidence to support his claim.
Mr Epstein committed suicide in his jail cell in August 2019 while awaiting trial on charges of sex trafficking minors.
The tech billionaire said SpaceX would begin the decommissioning of Dragon spacecraft following the president’s move to cancel his contracts with the government with the signature tax bill.
“In light of the President’s statement about cancellation of my government contracts, @SpaceX will begin decommissioning its Dragon spacecraft immediately,” he said.
Mr Musk’s accusations came after Mr Trump expressed disappointment in the tech billionaire for publicly criticising his tax bill and tagging it an “outrageous abomination”.
“Elon and I had a great relationship. I don’t know if we will anymore,” Mr Trump told White House reporters on Thursday. “I am disappointed in Elon.”
Shortly after Mr Trump’s outburst, Mr Musk slammed the president, calling him an ingrate whose re-election bid would have failed without his support.
“Without me, Trump would have lost the election, Dems would control the House and the Republicans would be 51-49 in the Senate,” the billionaire wrote on X.
The fall-out between the duo came days after Mr Musk stepped down as head of Trump’s Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) and then pivoted to attacking the “One Big Beautiful Bill” act, which would extend tax cuts, fund beefed-up immigration enforcement and impose new work requirements for enrollees of federal safety net programs.
Mr Musk endorsed Mr Trump last July after the assassination attempt in Pennsylvania and the Tesla boss reportedly funnelled $250 million into getting the former U.S. president into the White House.
