The Ile-Ife Magistrates’ Court, on Monday, remanded 26-year-old Adebowale Jegede for allegedly stealing an iron sheet valued at N1.5 million.

The prosecutor, Sunday Osanyintuyi, told the court that the defendant committed the offence around 5:00 a.m. on June 13.
Mr Osanyintuyi said the defendant entered the school premises on Road 7, Ile-Ife, “with intent to commit a felony therein”.
He said the defendant “maliciously and unlawfully removed and damaged” some iron sheets from five classrooms in the school.
According to him, the defendant stole 300 pieces of iron sheets valued at N1.5 million.
Mr Osanyintuyi stated further that the offence was contrary to section 383 and punishable under sections 390(9), 411 and 453 of the Criminal Code, Laws of Osun, 2002.
The defendant, who was not legally represented, pleaded guilty to the three-count charge of entering, malicious damage and stealing.
The magistrate, Abosede Sarumi, did not grant bail to the defendant but ordered his remand at the Ile-Ife Correctional Centre.
