Niger governor’s wife visits hospitals, offers financial aid to patients

Fatima Bago, wife of the Niger governor, paid a surprise visit to the Minna General Hospital and the Jummai Babangida Maternal and Neonatal wing of the hospital, offering financial support to patients.
A statement in Minna on Monday by Hadiza Maikano, press secretary to the governor’s wife, quoted Mrs Bago as saying the visit was part of her humanitarian outreach.
Mrs Bago said the visit was also to provide comfort, hope and support to patients in need.
“The purpose of the visit is to assess firsthand the condition of patients and offer them financial assistance to ease the burden of medical expenses.
“As the First Lady of Niger State, I believe it is my duty to reach out to those in need and offer them hope and support in line with the aspirations of Governor Umar Bago,” Mrs Bago said.
She said the visit was her unwavering commitment to healthcare support and social welfare as well as a testament to the deep compassion and dedication to the well-being of the people of the state.
The governor’s wife, who had made it a routine since 2023, also visited the IBB Specialist and M.I. Wushishi hospitals in Minna.
