NAF airstrikes kill scores of bandits in Zamfara

The air component of Operation Fansan Yamma, on Wednesday, neutralised scores of armed bandits in precision airstrikes along the Kebbi–Zamfara axis.
This is contained in a statement on Thursday by the director of public relations and information, Nigerian Air Force (NAF), Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame.
Mr Ejodame said the strikes followed real-time intelligence indicating about 150 motorcycles moving in batches, each carrying two armed terrorists near Yarbuga, Zamfara.
After positive identification of the convoy, NAF aircraft engaged with devastating precision, targeting the hostile elements.
Survivors were seen fleeing on foot and motorcycles as air assets maintained overwatch and executed follow-up strikes to block escape routes.
“After the airstrikes, ground troops launched an exploitation mission to Yarbuga village on Thursday morning,” he added.
At the site, they discovered the remains of dozens of terrorists, along with their weapons and several burnt motorcycles.
“This coordinated air–ground operation dealt a major blow to the bandit networks operating in the area.
“It highlights the Nigerian Air Force’s firm resolve to protect civilians, deny terrorists freedom of action, and support lasting peace efforts nationwide,” Mr Ejodame said.
