Oyo govt. refurbishes six armoured vehicles for police use

The Oyo State government has handed over six armoured personnel carriers (APCs) it refurbished to the state police command.
Deputy Governor Bayo Lawal handed over the vehicles to the state Commissioner of Police (CP), Johnson Adenola, on behalf of Governor Seyi Makinde, in Ibadan on Wednesday.
Mr Lawal restated the commitment of Mr Makinde’s administration to the security of lives and property, stating that the refurbished APCs would go a long way to enhance police operations.
He said, “Oyo State is one of the few states in Nigeria that is really paying attention to security issues,” thus charging the police to keep up with the commitment.
In his remarks, the CP appreciated the Makinde-led administration for assisting police operations with vehicles and other logistics.
Mr Adenola confirmed that the state government had allocated a lot of funds to security.
He, therefore, assured residents of the state that police operatives would enhance their operations to improve state security.
