The Kebbi State House of Assembly on Thursday donated 25 vehicles to the All Progressives Congress’ Tinubu/Kaura 2 Terms (TKT) Support Group.

While handing over the keys of the vehicles to the director-general of the group, Abdulrahman Manga, in Birnin Kebbi, Speaker of the Assembly, Muhammad Usman-Zuru, said that the donation was in fulfilment of the assembly’s pledge during the group’s inauguration in the state.

The group, inaugurated on May 20, aims to secure victory for APC in the 2027 general elections in the state.

Mr Usman-Zuru said that members of the assembly had every reason to support the party to ensure its victory in the 2027 general elections.

He stated, “The essence of governance is the delivery of dividends of democracy to the citizenry, and Governor Nasir Idris of Kebbi State has delivered beyond expectations in all the aspects of human endeavours. He has fulfilled almost all the 2023 electioneering campaign promises he made to the people of Kebbi.

“On the other hand, President Bola Tinubu has been magnanimous to Kebbi State in delivering such dividends to the state, which reinforced our belief that he is the right person to continue to steer the affairs of our dear nation. These are the convictions we have as members of the assembly, and these are what propelled all of us to pledge a donation of one vehicle each; we are 25 members in the assembly, and here are the 25 vehicles.’’

The speaker commended the governor for his sustained cordial relationship with the legislative arm of government, assuring that the legislators would continue to give him full support in his efforts at taking the state to greater heights.

Receiving the vehicles, the group’s director-general thanked the members of the assembly for honouring the group and fulfilling their pledge.

Mr Manga disclosed that since the inauguration of the group, a total of 70 vehicles, including those of the assembly, had been received.

He assured the lawmakers that the vehicles would be used for the purpose they were meant for.

“We have drivers who have gone through a series of training and seminars on road safety and driving for safety. We assure you that the vehicles will be used according to the targeted aims and objectives,” the director general said.
