Bashir El-Rufai vows to murder Nigerian troll, family members in unhinged social media post

Bashir El-Rufai, one of the sons of former Governor Nasir El-Rufai, in a now-deleted tweet, vowed to murder a Nigerian troll on X following a reaction to the tweet by former Kaduna first lady, Hadiza Isma El-Rufai.
Commenting on President Donald Trump’s recent travel ban on four African countries, including Nigeria, Mrs El-Rufai had tweeted, “A great percentage of these Nigerian Americans making us proud abroad are Igbos. There’s always two sides to every story.”
The tweet, which generated controversial comments from users on the platform, inspired another tweet from the former first lady clarifying that no amount of cyberbullying would deter her from expressing her opinion.
“No cyberbully can take away my right to express my opinion. Not everything is about politics, but that is something some of you will never understand,” Mrs El-Rufai wrote.
An X user, identified as @jussstice09 and whose sex remained unclear, responded, “You no go die well ma.”
Enraged by the reaction, Mr El-Rufai tweeted, “If you ever utter that phrase to my mother again & delete that tweet, I am going to find you (it’s easier than you think) & unalive you and your family.”
The former Kaduna governor’s son did not reply to Peoples Gazette’s request for comments.
The latest tweet followed his several vile and incendiary comments on social media.
In March, Mr El-Rufai threatened increased bloodshed in the Christian-dominated Southern Kaduna if the people continued to attack Fulani. He later deleted the controversial tweet and apologised amid backlash.
He had also said the mysterious disappearance of Abubakar ‘Dadiyatta’ Idris, a critic of his father, was a good consequence for lying to the public, calling Nigerians campaigning for justice for Dadiyatta on X clowns.
