NSCDC arrests suspected drug dealer, burglar in Kano

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Kano State Command, has apprehended a suspected drug dealer and a buglar.
The command’s spokesman, Ibrahim Idris-Abdullahi, disclosed this in a statement on Wednesday in Kano.
Idris-Abdullahi said that the first suspect, a 42-year-old male suspected drug dealer was apprehended at Salanta in the Gwale Local Government Area in possession of over 106 parcels of substances suspected to be cannabis sativa following credible intelligence reports.
He explained that the suspect was reportedly caught red-handed selling and distributing the illegal substance within the community.
He added that in another development, the corps apprehended another suspect, a 22-year-old male, for allegedly burgling residential homes and stealing valuables worth hundreds of thousands of naira at Gurungawa in Kumbotso Local Government of the state.
Mr Idris-Abdullahi said, “The suspect, who had been on the security watch-list for some time, was apprehended during a coordinated patrol aimed at curbing theft and other criminal activities in the area.”
He said the suspects would be charged to court on completion of investigation.
He urged residents to remain vigilant and continue to provide timely information that would assist in ridding the community of criminal elements.
