Kogi lawmaker declares support for Tinubu’s re-election in 2027

Senator representing Kogi West Senatorial District, Sunday Karimi, has declared his support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election in 2027. .
Mr Karimi stated this in a statement on Wednesday in Lokoja.
He cited the significant attention which Kogi State had received in terms of infrastructural development and human capital development under the Tinubu administration as a basis for his support.
According to him, the Tinubu administration has made notable progress in the state, including the dualisation of major roads, such as Abuja-Lokoja-Okene and Okene-Auchi-Benin roads, as well as the rehabilitation of the Kabba-Isanlu-Egbe-Ilorin road.
He said, “The administration has also resumed work on these projects, which will improve the lives of residents in host communities and road users nationwide. Additionally, the 614-kilometre Ajaokuta-Kaduna-Kano gas pipeline project, initiated in 2020, has achieved 75 per cent completion under President Tinubu’s watch. Kogi State is expected to benefit significantly from this project.’’
Mr Karimi emphasised that Kogi State has no ‘Plan B’ as a state and would ‘resolutely’ support Mr Tinubu’s re-election in 2027.
“We will stand resolutely with and support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the man we know. There will be no equivocation, no dithering about this resolve,” he stated.
The senator urged doubters to “smell the coffee,” indicating the confidence of Kogi people in Mr Tinubu’s leadership.
Mr Karimi’s endorsement added to the growing list of supporters backing Mr Tinubu’s election for a second term.
Recently, APC governors declared their support for Mr Tinubu ahead of the 2027 general elections.
