Tinubu’s wife mourns late media icon, Doyin Abiola

The First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has extended her heartfelt condolences to the family of Dr Doyin Abiola, media icon and wife of the late winner of the June 12, 1993, presidential election, MKO Abiola.
The late Doyin was one of the wives of the late MKO Abiola.
Mrs Tinubu in her condolences message described the late Doyin who was a former managing director and editor-in-chief of the defunct Concord Group of newspapers, as a woman of legacy.
According to the first lady, Mrs Doyin’s legacy of professionalism will continue to inspire all who believe in the power of the written word and the vital role of the press in nation-building.
She said, “I extend my condolences to the children, grandchildren, family, the media community, friends, colleagues and associates of the late Doyin, a distinguished journalist, media icon, and trailblazing woman. Doyin’s contributions to the growth of journalism and the media industry in Nigeria are worthy of note. She carved a path of excellence and courage for many Nigerian women in media and public service.’’
The first lady prayed to the Almighty God to grant her eternal rest and comfort her family and friends on this irreplaceable loss.
“Good night, Auntie Doyin. May her soul rest in peace, “she said.
