Helicopter Crash: Nigeria mourns Ghana’s ministers, others

The federal government has commiserated with the government and people of Ghana following a tragic helicopter crash that claimed the lives of several top officials.
The victims include Ghana’s defence minister, Edward Boamah, and environment minister Ibrahim Muhammed, alongside others travelling to Obuasi on Wednesday.
The condolence was conveyed in a statement on Thursday by Nigeria’s foreign affairs ministry.
“This devastating incident has robbed Ghana of distinguished public servants and created a profound void in the West African region,” stated the ministry.
He described Messrs Boamah and Muhammed as committed leaders whose work in regional security and environmental sustainability would be greatly missed.
He stressed that Nigeria stands in solidarity with Ghana during this period of immense grief and prays for the strength to bear the loss.
“We share in Ghana’s sorrow and pray for the peaceful repose of the departed. Our thoughts are with their families and the entire government.
“As neighbours and partners in progress, we reaffirm our commitment to strengthening the bonds of friendship and cooperation, even in moments of deep loss,” the statement added.
