Hon Temitope Adewale, representing Ifako-Ijaiye 1 in the Lagos State House of Assembly, has reaffirmed his commitment to promoting academic excellence through educational initiatives.

Mr Adewale gave the assurance during the flag-off of 400 free GCE forms at his constituency office in Lagos on Friday.

The project was sponsored by the Adewale Temitope Educational Initiative.

He said the initiative aligns with President Bola Tinubu’s efforts through the NelFund to eliminate financial barriers to education for Nigerian students.

Mr Adewale explained the initiative empowers Ifako-Ijaiye residents by promoting a culture of academic development and lifelong learning.

According to him, the programme positions the constituency to become one of the most educated in Lagos State and the country.

He stated that education remains the strongest tool to transform lives, hence his unwavering focus on educational programmes.

Beneficiaries include both youths and adults, irrespective of age, tribe, or political affiliation, across the constituency’s seven wards.

Mr Adewale noted that the initiative would raise academic standards, unlock opportunities, and foster societal progress through education.

He stressed that no student should miss out on learning because of financial constraints—a promise he remains committed to.

“Our goal remains to make Ifako-Ijaiye the most educated local government in Nigeria by 2037,” Adewale said.

He announced that the screening would end Saturday, with successful applicants’ names to be released next week.

Now in its 7th edition, the free GCE form initiative has distributed over 2,500 forms to students.

Additionally, more than 5,000 free JAMB forms have been given out, with over 120 students currently on full scholarships.
